I’ve been busy working, sleeping and eating a lot. It’s hard to believe there are only a few more weeks left until baby Ethan is here. I’m excited about getting to know the person that we made. I’m excited about introducing this person to chocolate chip cookies, art, and the Pixies. I’m excited to read The Little Red Hen with this person. I’m excited about getting to know Eric as a parent. I’m excited about getting to know myself as a parent. I’m ready, and I’m not at all ready, but more than anything, I just feel lucky to get to have this experience. What I don’t feel lucky about is the fact that I’ve been dealing with SPD – one of those weird pregnancy conditions that sounds bizarre and well, kind of is. It means the ligaments that normally keep your pelvic bone aligned during pregnancy become too relaxed and stretchy. This, in turn, can make the pelvic joint — aka the symphysis pubis — unstable, causing some pretty strange sensations and chronic pain. I’ve been experiencing that for over 2 months now and I’ve developed a limp that makes me walk like a pimp. :|
On a side note – my new artist crush is Mike Mitchell, his artwork is my favorite style of cute & creepy. :) This piece has to be my favorite of his so far.
Which also reminds me of a really great documentary I watched about Kevin Clash (the puppeteer behind Elmo) that you should all go watch. It’s called Being Elmo and it will make you laugh, cry and make you want to go destroy your favorite blankey so you can create your own puppet. :)
